Researchers from the Internet Education and Research Laboratory (intERLab) at the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) made significant contributions to the 122nd Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) meeting, held in Bangkok from March 15th to 21st, 2025.

The IETF-122 meeting, a prominent global forum for internet standards development, provided a platform for intERLab researchers to present their cutting-edge work to an international audience. intERLab’s participation was made possible through the generous support of the THNIC Foundation.
Dr. Preechai presented his research titled “Offline Content Access with NDN and D2D Communication” at the Information-Centric Networking Research Group (ICNRG) session. His presentation focused on proposing a novel Named Data Networking (NDN) architecture over Device-to-Device (D2D) communication for efficient content delivery. This research aims to improve offline content access, particularly in scenarios with limited or intermittent internet connectivity.

Dr. Adisorn delivered a compelling talk at the GAIA (Global Access to the Internet for All) meeting, titled “Air Pollution on the Move: A Study of PM2.5 Exposure in Urban Delivery Workers.” His presentation highlighted the findings of a study measuring the air pollution exposure of motorcycle delivery riders in Bangkok and Chiang Mai. This research sheds light on the significant health risks faced by urban delivery workers and underscores the importance of real-time air quality monitoring.

intERLab’s participation in IETF-122 underscores AIT’s commitment to contributing to global internet standards development and addressing critical environmental challenges through innovative research. The presentations by Dr. Preechai and Dr. Adisorn highlight the breadth and depth of intERLab’s research activities, spanning advanced networking technologies and impactful environmental studies.

The core component of the laboratory will be on research activities.
