intERLab at the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) participated in the 59th SOI/Asia meeting, a key event for fostering internet collaboration and innovation in the Asia-Pacific region on March 3-7, 2025.
This meeting provided a valuable platform for intERLab to engage with regional partners and contribute to discussions on the future of internet technologies. Details of the meeting can be found here: https://www.soi.asia/collaboration-innovation-and-a-new-home-the-59th-soi-asia-meeting-in-review/.
A significant development during the meeting was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between intERLab and Keio University. This collaboration is designed to leverage the complementary strengths of both institutions, particularly in areas relevant to the evolving internet landscape. By combining intERLab’s expertise in regional networking challenges with Keio University’s advanced research capabilities in areas like network security, IoT, and future internet architectures, the partnership aims to:
- Enhance Research Capacity: Facilitate joint research projects that address the unique networking needs of the Asia-Pacific region.
- Promote Knowledge Exchange: Foster the exchange of expertise and best practices between researchers and students.
- Drive Innovation: Contribute to the development of robust and inclusive internet solutions that benefit the region.
Furthermore, intERLab-AIT will host the SOI/Asia meeting in Bangkok in late October 2025. The 2025 meeting will provide a crucial platform for researchers, academics, and industry professionals to discuss emerging trends and collaborative solutions tailored to the Asia-Pacific context.
The collaboration with Keio University and the opportunity to host the 2025 SOI/Asia meeting are important steps in intERLab’s ongoing efforts to support the development of a strong and collaborative internet research community in the region.
