Dr. Adisorn Lertsinsrubtavee, Director of the Internet Education and Research Laboratory (intERLab) at the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), recently hosted Ms. Francini Hak, a Research Collaborator from the ALGORITMI Research Center at the University of Minho, Portugal, for a week of discussions. The visit, supported by the Erasmus+ KA171 International Mobility Program, provided an opportunity for both institutions to explore areas of mutual interest and potential future collaboration.

During her visit, Ms. Hak engaged with Dr. Adisorn and the intERLab team, learning about the lab’s ongoing projects in air pollution and forest fire monitoring. Dr. Adisorn presented an overview of intERLab’s research activities and discussed potential avenues for future development.

Ms. Hak expressed interest in how her expertise in data science might contribute to the analysis of data gathered by intERLab’s environmental monitoring systems. The discussions focused on the potential for collaboration, with both sides acknowledging the value of data science in environmental research.

Dr. Adisorn shared intERLab’s ongoing efforts to develop effective monitoring systems and emphasized the lab’s interest in exploring international partnerships.

The visit also included preliminary discussions regarding potential student exchange programs between AIT and the University of Minho, highlighting a shared interest in fostering academic exchange.

Ms. Hak’s visit facilitated a valuable exchange of information and ideas, laying the groundwork for potential future interactions between intERLab and the University of Minho. Both institutions expressed optimism about the possibilities for future collaboration in research and education.

The core component of the laboratory will be on research activities.
