ASIAN INTERNET ENGINEERING CONFERENCE

Advancing Computing as a Science & Profession
ACM SIGCOMM

November 20 - 22 , 2017
Venue: Jamjuree 1, Pathumwan Princess Hotel, Bangkok Thailand

The 13th Asian Internet Engineering Conference (AINTEC) provides an international technical forum for experts from industry and academia. AINTEC especially aims at addressing issues pertinent to the Asia and Pacific region, with vast diversities of socio-economic and networking conditions, while inviting high quality and recent research results from the Internet research community at large. AINTEC 2017 follows the twelfth successful editions held in Thailand, in cooperation with ACM SIGCOMM. AINTEC'2017 proceedings will be included in the ACM Digital Library. The conference is single-track and features a technical program with significant opportunities for individual and small-group discussions among a diverse set of participants. The technical sessions will include invited talks by leading experts, presentations of papers, demos, posters, pre-conference activity (27th Asian School). Best Paper Awardee is entitled with an ACM SIGCOMM travel grant program.

Paper Submission

AINTEC 2017 solicits high quality papers that improve digital communications in diverse situations including, but not limited to:

Future Internet architectures and technologies
Networking technologies in developing regions
Internet measurement, analysis and modeling
Disaster networking, including experience with earthquakes and tsunamis
Sensor networking and applications
Wireless, mobile and ad hoc networks
Delay and disruption tolerant networks
Location management and positioning
Content diffusion with P2P, CDN or ICN
Multimedia systems and applications
Network operations and management
Quantum networking
Social networks
Network security
Cloud Computing and Services

Submissions must be original, unpublished work, and not have been submitted to another conference or journal for publication. Papers must be submitted in electronic format following the instructions provided on the AINTEC Web site . Paper length cannot exceed 8 pages in the 10pts "ACM SIGCOMM format". Submission of a paper implies that should the paper be accepted for publication in the conference proceedings, at least one of the authors will register and present the paper in the conference.

Important note: Authors of accepted papers must pay for their registration on or before the camera ready version deadline.

Completed Copyright forms

ACM has an automated copyright form collection system for ACM published proceedings. Accepted authors will be sent the ACM form and complete instructions. A weekly reminder will be sent to authors with outstanding forms. Reminders will be sent every week until four weeks before the conference/workshop. All of the copyright forms must be submitted/approved four weeks prior to AINTEC 2017.

Manuscript PDF files

  • b-1) a PDF file of your paper (see the formatting guidelines)
  • b-2) a text file of meta data used for the Digital Library

In addition to the paper, a file in text format containing the title of the paper, name(s) of author(s), affiliation(s) and e-mail address(es), paper abstract, and the ACM Computing Classification sections (Categories, General Terms and Keywords) (see "http://www.acm.org/class/1998/" for the ACM Computing Classification.) ACM Computing Classification System (CCS) MUST be submitted. Please submit these from the following page: to aintec-sec at interlab.ait.ac.th

Formatting Guidelines (DEPRECATED )

All submissions must adhere to the format and size constraints indicated below.

ACM has stopped supporting the ACM Computing Classification sections starting this year (2017). Please follow the guide for ACM SigConf format in http://www.acm.org/publications/proceedings-template.
  1. Submissions MUST be no more than eight (8) pages in 10 point Times Roman (or equivalent font). They should have Type 1 fonts (scalable), not Type 3 (bit-mapped). All fonts MUST be embedded within the PDF file. This length includes everything: figures, tables, references, appendices and so forth.
  2. Submissions MUST follow ACM guidelines: double column, with each column 9.25" by 3.33", 0.33" space between columns.

NOTE: For the submission, you are strongly encouraged to use the modified 10pt ACM SIG-alternate latex template available "here" or using word document

  3. The paper MUST be submitted in PDF format.
  4. Make sure that the output has been formatted for printing on LETTER (8.5" by 11") size paper.
  5. No header or footer information (page numbers, names, report numbers, etc.) should appear on the pages.
  6. The title of the paper, name(s) of author(s), affiliation(s) and e-mail address(es) should appear on the first page (either at the top of the page or in a footnote).

Right after the abstract and before the introduction, there must be the mandatory ACM Computing Classification sections (Categories, General Terms and Keywords). (see "http://www.acm.org/class/1998/" for the ACM Computing Classification.)

  7. The ACM copyright strip should be present on the paper's front page and include the following information.
PLEASE USE THE COPYRIGHT FORMAT SENT BY ACM
For your reference the copyright strip should look like this

Call for Posters

At AINTEC 2017, we alse invite the submission of posters describing on-going ideas, demos or implementation work. In addition to traditional poster presentation, this session will be enhanced to provide opportunities for authors to present innovative ideas, implementation details or hands-on demonstrations.

Poster Submission Info

To submit a poster, please:

    • Prepare an extended abstract (two page maximum) with 10pt font that summarizes the work. Please note that you are free to arrange the material as you wish, and you can focus on a particular point that interests you, for example the innovative idea, the mathematical theory or the implementation, as long as all aspects above are covered. This allows potential poster authors to submit the idea of their work without requiring a full poster by the submission deadline. Accepted abstract authors will be required to produce a high-quality final poster version for display at the conference.
    •    OR

Prepare a high-quality version of the final poster.

  1. Send one or both items (in PDF format) to posters-aintec2017@ait.asia

Additional information:

Posters will be exhibited in the break areas throughout the conference. The authors will give a 3 minute lightening talk and present the poster and/or demonstrate their work during poster session at the conference. In order to protect author’s right to submit their work for publication as a full paper elsewhere, we will not be publishing a poster abstract with the proceedings. This will hopefully prevent future reviewers from claiming that your work is already published. However, we will include the poster title and author names on the conference webpage.
