Mean Field in the middle of the field

Abstract

Network application are becoming more and more popular. This means that network applications are connecting an increasingly number of users, leading to an exponential number of states. It this context analyzing, modeling and simulating such large scale systems becomes challenging. Mean Field techniques developed initial for analysis of large systems of interacting particles have been more and more applied to analyse large scale network systems. This talk will present this approach using example coming from published papers. It will in particular describe a methodological approach to derive mean field in a large set of scenarios.
