Abstract

Interop Tokyo is one of the largest network technology event held in Makuhari Messe every year. There were over 140,000 attendees and over 500 exhibitors on the event this year. ShowNet is a large scale demonstration network constructed at the Interop Tokyo. ShowNet must serve stable Internet connectivity to attendees for their Internet access and to exhibitors for their demonstration on their booth. But, at the same time, we also challenged to implement several cutting-edge network technologies to the ShowNet and demonstrated these technologies can be use with current network devices.

In this talk, I will introduce an overview of our challenges, and, important cycles with research communities, technical communities and our environment to improve and brushed up new technologies to be commodity technologies.
