THNICF Donated Wireless Routers to Nepal to be used for Emergency Communication

On April 28, 2015 we received 44 wireless routers donated by THNICF. The intERLab team and Nepalese student volunteers in AIT started preparing the routers for emergency deployment, providing local Social Networking, Educational Video and VoIP services. On April 30, 2015 we finished all preparation and packed routers into four (4) boxes.

On May 1, 2015, the four (4) boxes containing 44 routers were delivered the Nepal Research and Education Network (NREN) with help of  Mr. Apichart Chantanis from Ramathibodi Hospital.

On 4 May 2015,  the NREN team visited a community valley outside Kathmandu nearly 40 kms away. There were a lots of patients being brought from a number of nearby districts (Kavre, Sindhupalchowk and Ramechaap). The NREN team deployed one set of the equipments. (i.e. 10 Mobile routers + 1 WLAN router/sip server).  The mobile routers were deployed at major locations which include patient camps within the hospital, emergency service, operation center and medicine area.
